Today I am home, tinkering with the house, surfing the net and avoiding responsibility in general. You see, today I have a paid holiday. If you don't, it's because you don't work in the great city of San Jose. It is Cesar Chavez Day, one of the most important days of the year, at least in San Jose. I think it's an honorable homage to the Chavez legacy - and I'm happy to know about it. But more than that, I love having a day off that no one else has except my coworkers. It's kind of like a private free day. I look forward to and plan for it every year. Now, off to do....something...or nothing!
